Hello and Welcome

Anne-Laure Vieille, PG Dip Psychotherapist

I am a fully qualified and experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist, registered with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and FPC (Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling).

I work face to face with individuals on a long term basis or, if you wish a specific focus, in a time limited frame of 12 sessions. I am bilingual and can offer sessions in English or French.

My Approach: Psychodynamic

my approach is Psychodynamic, which means the sessions focus on your unconscious and early relationship to gain insight into your current moods, behavior and decisions. This process helps to attain a more reflective on your life and a better capacity to relate to yourself and others.

Training qualification and Experience

I qualified in 2016 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from WPF Therapy, a well-respected psychotherapy training institution founded in 1969. This qualification is validated by the University of Roehampton and accredited by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I am a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and FPC (Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling) and abide by their codes of ethics, professional conduct and practice. I have full professional indemnity.

Overall, I have experience working in an open ended and time limited (12 sessions) frame with a wide range of people and diverse problems including:

  • ANXIETY
  • DEPRESSION
  • LOW MOOD
  • LOW SELF-ESTEEM
  • RELATIONSHIP STRUGGLES
  • LIFE TRANSITION AND WORK STRESS
  • BEREAVEMENT AND LOSS
  • ISSUES RELATING TO SEXUALITY AND IDENTITY
  • EMOTIONAL RESPONSE TO FERTILITY ISSUES
  • TRAUMA

What to Expect?

Therapy is a personal endeavor and the type of therapy that may help, as well as the length of treatment, varies from one person to another. Initially, expect to build a relationship with your therapist, establishing trust and comfort. Sessions typically involve talking about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a confidential, non-judgmental setting. It's a space where you can express yourself freely.

The first step is to have a brief initial telephone call to discuss what you are looking for and establish whether therapy is right for you at this time. We will also talk about some practical details, including availability for sessions and fees.

Psychotherapy is not appropriate for people in immediate crisis. Samaritans can help, call them on 116 123.

Fees

I charge from £65 to £75 for a regular 50 minute session, depending on time of day.
